Join Team Empower for the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge

As a senior female leader or business owner, you know the value of coming together with like-minded individuals to discuss all things business. Networking and collaborating with other C-suite executives and senior leaders can lead to personal growth and remarkable opportunities. That’s precisely what our Empowering Women Network is all about.

With nearly 300 senior female leaders from across the north west, our community has been growing steadily, fostering a supportive environment for women in leadership positions. We believe that no subject should be off the table when it comes to discussing business challenges and opportunities. Our quarterly events bring together owner-founders, MDs, CEOs, NEDs, and senior professionals from the local deal community.

But we are not just here to discuss business; we’re also passionate about giving back to society and making a positive impact. This year, we’ve taken the initiative to launch “Team Empower Challenge ’23′” to raise funds for Prevent Breast Cancer, a cause close to our hearts. So far our community has generously donated over £4,500 but with your help, we’re aiming to surpass £10k!

Team Empower: Coming Together for a Meaningful Cause

Team Empower is a group of 24 women, comprising both Rowan employees and senior females from within our community. On October 14th, we’ll embark on a 24-mile hike across the breathtaking Yorkshire peaks to raise vital funds for Prevent Breast Cancer. The funds raised will be crucial for the completion of the National Breast Imaging Academy, which will be based here in the north west.

Not only will this centre undertake vital research to prevent and predict breast cancer, but it will also serve as a training ground for the next generation of radiographers. Numbers of radiographers look set to decline as it is predicted that 40% of the current cohort are set to retire in the next three years alone! Therefore, succession planning becomes paramount in ensuring that both women and men across the UK continue to receive essential radiography services.

A Personal Connection: Our Colleague’s Inspiring Journey

Prevent Breast Cancer’s mission is incredibly personal to us. While working at Rowan, one of our own, was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 24 years old. Although she bravely fought and recovered, the cancer unfortunately returned and she recently received a terminal diagnosis. As she now fights hard to reach her 30th birthday, her story serves as a poignant reminder that breast cancer can affect anyone, regardless of age, race, gender, or social demographic.
